The vessel, the Grace Emilia, grounded at km 125 in Little Bitter Lake, on the southern end of the canal, Leth Agencies reported.

After an accident during which a sea sailor died after a flare exploded immediately.
The incident
On the night of January 1, 2023, a person on board a Dutch sailing ship on the Pacific Ocean died when he fired a flare.
The experienced sea sailor fired the flare, which complied with its requirements, in accordance with the instructions. The flare did not launch as intended, but exploded immediately, with fatal consequences.

The UK Maritime Pilots Association praised the actions of three ship pilots who managed to prevent the grounding of one of the world’s largest containerships in the Solent after a loss of engine power.
The incident took place on January 26 after the MOL Treasure’s recent call at the Port of Southampton. According to the UKMPA, the ship departed the Port of Southampton around 1100 local time with two pilots on board.
