A fire broke out on Friday at the Nohoch Alfa offshore platform in the Bay of Campeche, in the Gulf of Mexico, killing at least two individuals and leaving one missing.
According to Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), 328 workers were on the sight when the fire started. Two people died, at least six people were injured and the company has lost production capacity for about 700,000 barrels of oil, more than a third of its daily output.
According to Vietnamese officials, on 14th July, a Wan Hai containership made contact with a bulker. While neither vessel appears to have sustained significant damage in the allision, a portion of the cargo handling equipment at the dry bulk terminal collapsed.
On 2nd July, two handysize bulk carriers collided, while transiting the Parana River, in Argentina.
In particular, the collision involved the 29,100 dwt Argentina-flagged Argenmar Mistral and the 35,500 dwt Panama-flagged ES Vanquish at kilometre 313 in the middle of the navigation channel in Ramallo.
According to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), a roll-on roll-off/passenger vessel ran aground at approximately 100 meters off the nearest shoreline of Barangay Nasunugan in Banton, Romblon, midnight of 16 July 2023.
