After the termination of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Maritime Administrator has raised the security level setting for vessels operating in the Black Sea.
One actual incident of armed robbery against ships (CAT 2) in Asia was reported between 15th – 21st August.
The incident occurred to a container ship while anchored at Manila North Harbour Anchorage, Philippines.
A Russian warship fired warning shots at a cargo ship in the southwestern Black Sea as it made its way northwards, the first time Russia has fired on merchant shipping beyond Ukraine since exiting a landmark UN-brokered grain deal last month.
According to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, a fire aboard a containership anchored off the coast of Port Klang was extinguished with minor damage and no casualties to the crew.
