The incidents occurred on board a container ship while anchored at Manila Anchorage, the Philippines and a tanker while underway in the Singapore Strait. The crew members were not injured in the incidents. However, some ship properties/stores were stolen in both incidents.

According to the Maritime Domain Awareness for Trade – Gulf of Guinea corporation center, the vessel has been boarded by 5 armed persons who approached the vessel from a skiff. The Liberia-flag vessel is owned by Denmark’s Monjasa and managed by Montec Ship Management.
