During 15-21 February 22, three CAT 41 incidents of armed robbery against ships in Asia were reported.
All three incidents occurred to ships while underway in the eastbound lane of the Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS) in the Singapore Strait (SS). The crew was safe and nothing was stolen in all three incidents.
The Omani Maritime Security Centre (MSC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the French Navy on exchanging information in the field of maritime security.
The two sides discussed several matters regarding maritime fields between the two countries.
Moreover, Admiral Vandier toured the centre’s facilities and viewed its latest equipment and technologies. OHe was also briefed on the tactical roles and tasks carried out by the centre within its national duties, as it coordinates with relevant authorities in search and rescue missions, as well as in the safety of the maritime environment.
The MoU was signed by Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), Chairman of the Maritime Security Committee and Admiral Pierre Vandier, Chief of Staff of the French Navy, who is currently visiting the Sultanate of Oman.

The Saudi led Coalition reportedly destroyed an explosive laden boat in the Southern Red Sea, according to Yemeni media.
Namely, the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen said it had launched 18 operations targeting the Iran-backed Houthi militia in the Yemeni provinces of Marib and Hajjah in the past 24 hours.
It added that casualties were inflicted on several Houthi militants and 13 military vehicles had been destroyed.
In the meantime, the coalition said it destroyed an explosive-laden boat belonging to the Houthi militia in the southern Red Sea from the port of Hodeidah.
Ukrainian and Russian waters in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov have been added as a precautionary measure to the Listed Areas by the Joint War Committee.
