A cargo ship was struck by multiple unknown projectiles approximately 40 nautical miles southeast of Al Mukha, Yemen, on August 17.

The incident occurred at around 1100 UTC, with local authorities reporting that the vessel had been hit by several projectiles while in the area. The cargo ship was unmanned at the time of the attack, and no casualties have been reported.

The damage sustained in the incident was severe enough for the vessel to be considered a complete constructive loss, meaning the extent or cost of the damage makes recovery or repair economically impractical.

Authorities are investigating the incident and have not identified the source of the projectiles or determined who was responsible for the attack.

The vessels operating in the area to transit with caution and to report any suspicious activity to the organisation.

To remind, previously, Houthi forces launched successive missile and drone attacks on the government-held Red Sea port city of al-Makha on August 9 and 10, killing at least 18 people across two waves of strikes.
