Project cargoes are dimensionally challenged, heavy, and complex pieces of equipment that are generally large, heavy-duty, and high value. They require considerable planning and specialized transport equipment for lashing and securing. Such complex and high value cargoes should require a marine warranty survey (MWS) which is typically provided for under the terms of the charter party and normally the responsibility of the Charterers. Shipowners are strongly advised to check, where applicable, that the MWS has indeed been carried out.
