A Malta-flagged container ship observed three explosions, 15 miles southwest of Yemen’s Mocha.

Ambrey indicated that three missiles were fired from Yemen’s Taiz Governorate. A nearby vessel reported sighting a small boat, approximately 50 meters in length, with two lights, within 1 mile of the incident location, Reuters notes.

Ambrey assessed that while the targeted vessel wasn’t Israel-affiliated, the affiliation of other vessels in the operator’s fleet with Israel might have been a reason for the attack.

Several shipping lines have suspended operations in the Red Sea in response to these attacks, opting for a longer route around Africa. For instance, after a Maersk vessel was attacked twice by Houthi rebels over the weekend, the company has temporarily halted transportation across the Red Sea.
