According to Greek Coast Guard, a cargo ship transporting salt with sunk off the island of Lesbos on 26th November, leaving one person dead and twelve others missing.
In particular, the Raptor, registered in Comoros, was on its way to Istanbul from Alexandria, Egypt, carrying 6,000 tons of salt.
When the Comoros-flagged “Raptor” reported a technical fault and sent out a distress call early on Sunday, it had left El Dekheila port.
It had a crew of 14, including eight Egyptians, four Indians and two Syrians, the coast guard said.
According to news, a Greek naval frigate, two helicopters, and eight commercial ships were out looking for survivors. The heavy waves made it impossible for three coast guard boats to get to the region.
