On 17th June, two bulk carriers collide in the Spanish port of Tarragona, with result to suffered heavy damage.
In particular, a 75,500 dwt Elena Ve owned by Greece’s Golden Union struck moored Polsteam’s 82,100 dwt Karpaty while proceeding to berth with tugs’ assistance.
According to news, the 2013-built Polish kamsarmax sustained significant damage to the port side.
Furthermore, the bow of the Greek panamax has also been severely damaged, both on the side and on the deck.
However, the cause of the collision is still unknown.
