Four incidents of armed robbery against ships in Asia were reported.

Of these, one CAT 31 and three CAT 42 incidents. The CAT 3 incident occurred to a bulk carrier while sailing towards Jakarta “C” Anchorage, Indonesia; and all three CAT 4 incidents occurred in the Singapore Strait (SS).

Engine spare parts and scrap metals were stolen from the three incidents in the SS. Nothing was stolen in the other incident. The crew members were safe in all four incidents.

With these three incidents in the SS, a total of 36 incidents were reported in the strait since January 2022.

The ship master and crew to report all incidents of piracy and armed robbery against ships to the nearest coastal State and flag State, exercise vigilance and adopt relevant preventive measures taking reference from the Regional Guide 2 to Counter Piracy and Armed Robbery Against Ships in Asia
