The war risk cargo insurance to cover vessels sailing through the Red Sea against drone and missile attacks due to escalating geopolitical tensions.

According to Reuters, this new insurance is the “first dedicated coverage of its kind” to protect cargo vessels in an active conflict zone, including the Bab al-Mandab Strait, the Red Sea, and the Indian Ocean.

Correspondents in Huatai has provided the following update after dealing with a number of ships which were punished by the Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) for failing to fly, improperly flying, or flying a damaged or defiled National Flag of the People’s Republic of China.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) was notified on 16th April of a fire onboard a Tanzania-flagged freighter, LAYAR ANGGUN 8(LA8), in Singapore territorial waters off Pedra Branca.

12 crew have been safely recovered onto a Singapore Police Coast Guard craft and are on their way to Singapore.
